Senate Republican Leader Knopp Supports Freedom for Oregonians at the Pump

SALEM, Ore. – Yesterday, the Oregon Senate passed House Bill 2426 with overwhelming support, giving drivers a choice in how they fill up their vehicles at gas stations statewide. Currently, Oregon is one of two states that prohibits drivers from pumping their own gas.

“Because I belong to a commercial fueling cooperative, I have pumped my own fuel for years. I have yet to light myself on fire. I have yet to cause any problems whatsoever as it relates to self-serve gas. I know Oregonians are ready,” Senate Republican Leader Tim Knopp (R-Bend) said on the Senate floor.

HB 2426 now awaits a signature from the Governor.
